Food:

  • Long concession lines - get your food before the game starts
  • prices were pretty reasonable
  • Chik-Fil-A sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs ($1.50)

Parking:

  • Parking was $5....a little high
  • parking lots and garage near park

Seating/Stadium Design:

  • Kids Play Area
  • Narrow concourse area for a park that almost always sells out
  • Green fold-down seats and bleachers with backs

Atmosphere/Character:

I was not a big fan of the atmosphere at LeLacheur Park. Between almost every pitch, a movie clip was played on the video board that in most cases had nothing to do with baseball. I just felt like I was at an amusement park rather than a ballgame.

Once the game began, I didn't see much of the mascot. He was out on the field prior to the game, but after that, he made minimal appearances.

Mascot- "Canaligator"

I did like that the park was located in an area of the city that had character. A unique bridge can be seen over the right field wall as well as old mills, which are now apartment buildings.

Recognition of Team's History and/or MLB Affiliate:

  • Retired numbers on the right field wall
  • Boston Red Sox Banners on the exterior of the park
  • Championship Pennants on the front of the park
  • Similar traditions to Fenway Park ("Playing of Sweet Caroline")

Origin of Team's Name:

The Spinners' team name comes from the fact that Lowell was a thriving mill town in the 1700's.
