Atmosphere/Character:

If you like Damaschke Field in Oneonta, then you'll love Diethrick Park. Diethrick Park is a relaxing park to watch a game. The focus is on baseball and not on silly in-between innings contests. There isn't a barrage of announcements and ads in between pitches or innings. The PA announcer is very traditional. There is a mascot, Bubba Grape, the Baseball Ape. Diethrick Park definitely features the old-time feel to minor league baseball. Players walk through the concourse area before the game and the visitor's clubhouse door was open before the game without fear of fans harrassing players for autographs, etc. I am not sure what the future holds for Jamestown baseball, but I hope they can find some way to keep baseball at Diethrick Park.
