Baxter Stadium opened in 1995. Baxter Stadium is located in Mountaindale, NY, which is out in the middle of no where. The capacity of the park was 3000. In 1995, the Sullivan County Mountain Lions (Northeast League) played here. From 1996-1998 & 2000, the Catskill Cougars (North Atlantic League, Northeast League, and Northern League) called Baxter Stadium their home. The Catskill Cougars were champions of the Northern League in 1998. The Sullivan County Mountain Lions were managed by former Major Leaguer, Ken Oberkfell. In 1997, former Met Wally Backman was the manager of the Cougars and lead them to a horrendous 3-23 stint. Since the stadium has been vacant, it has been subject to vandalism.
